Nissan Boosts Leaf Price, Expands Sales Nissan Boosts Leaf Price, Expands Sales - Bloomberg Per Bloomberg News
Thanks for the news info link. Some months leading up to the early deliveries of the Leaf, people were talking about electric car prices being driven down as critical mass adoption increases and more competitors emerge. On the onset it seems logical BUT, why would auto makers cut prices on a product line that has the potential to sell well??? Auto makers know that they will not over exceed their production and remain opportunistic so there is no real reason to cut prices for their electric product lines. I can't understand the logic behind why the majority of people think prices will come down. The bottomline is this, as petrol prices continue to rise, and electric cars begin to gain popularity, auto maker will keep production to a limited quatity and sell the allocations and find innovative ways to increase their margins. There is NO WAY prices will fall. The electric car is not a commodity product.
