Body Kit $2000+, 17"s + rubber $3500, sway bar $250, lowering springs $500. Plus instalation? This is a deal. Own two touring models, one 11 mod 3, and would have gotten this if it was available sooner. Watch out for curbs and bumperstops in parking lots. Gen 3 front end is high enough to clear most bumperstops. Gen 2 touring is not. Nor would this PLus kit.

The Touring package would have had the faster steering ratio. I debated between the two packages (Touring and Tech). I liked the quicker steering and the LED headlights but the gadgets in the Tech Pack won me over. I don't really like the steering though (feels slower than the Gen 2).

Maybe petition the Prius Team to get Toyota to bring back the plan to allow the faster steering ratio in the lower trims (obviously via software programming), which they ditched shortly after Toyota got hit with the SUA/recalls media hysteria?

You can always get the LED headlights for $800 a pop if you want them bad enough (or better yet, JDM LED headlights without the orange reflectors) :D

Dang, I had no idea they had different steering ratios. I got the tech. package because it was the only one they had in 2010. I bought the car May 2, 2011 and got $5k off the sticker, which seemed like a no-brainer to me.

You should be able to purchase the wheels that come with the package, at a price (probably $500 a pop similar to stock 17" wheels). But why not the Five Axis S6:F rims as shown, either in gunmetal or bronze?

They do have it on the Prius PHV Demo cars.

I don't think it's a software thing. I thought the software change that Doug was talking about before the SUA hysteria was to adjust for the feel rather than actual gear ratios.

Funny eh? Not a damn salesman knew about it. I had to confirm it on my own (after the Prius Team acknowledged the difference for US models) by testing the Touring and any another Prius (since all models with the 15" alloys will have the same setup) and sure enough, the Touring had the quicker steering ratio.

You bought a 2010 in 2011? That would make sense if it was $5k off. I remember a dealer selling a 2007 Camry XLE V6 in 2009 (brand new, never registered) for $2 or 3k off.

^Those rims look very much like the Lexus 2IS rims.

IS-F you mean? I think the 2IS rims are still silver painted. Or do you mean the design that looks like the 18" rims from the 2IS?

Yes, but the three photos in the OP's link make them look silver. Maybe they're just like the Five Axis S6:F silver rims, in which they look either silver or gunmetal depending on the lighting condition.
