I always worry when something goes wrong aftermarket that the car manufacturer won't warranty stuff and then I am out even more money.

Springs always worried me honestly but I don't know much about them or coil overs to see about lowering the car with bigger rims. I love the air suspension on HBII's ride but can't drop $4kish on it. I'm already dropping a bit on the system and wheels.

Still working on the details with all that. But I am loving the Ken Style Prius30 bodykit. Wish it was a little cheaper.

Thankfully there is not much that can go wrong with springs. As long as you seat them correctly during installation there should be no problems. :)

The advantage to coil overs is you can adjust your ride height how you like it. The drawback is the price.

Now don't laugh guys, but I have beaten a Mustang off the line with my 2010 V/ATP in PWR mode. However, the advantage didn't last long!

I would never consider the extra $$$ for the PLUS since I already think my V looks cool enough! Lighted door sills, lower rocker panel door mouldings, tinted windows & window rain sills! Lowering the vehicle for me is out of the question, I've already scarped the bottom of the front bumper down a steep driveway!:(

I don't think it's worth it only because I don't like the wheels on the PLUS package. I mean I KINDA like the body kit but there are others out there that I like MUCH more.

Here in Tampa it's REALLY flat with not many big driveways so I am not worried about scraping, so IF I got bigger rims (say 18's) I think it would look 100x better lowered (which is why I LOVE the air suspension of HBII's ride as I could adjust it at will. The price tag would be tough to swallow though.

For those who don't mind aftermarket parts, you can create a look that is much nicer than the v and save a boatload of money. The drawback is resale may be less because some people don't trust non- oem parts.

With the PLUS package isn't more weight being added, thus lowering mpg?

The weight should be negligible but wheel and tire choice could have a larger effect. In the grand scheme the lower mpg would probably cost less than $150/yr. Small prices to pay if you want better looks and extremely better handling.

It depends. A Prius Two with the PLUS package may still weigh less than a Five AT.

Sweet! I feel the same way as my car is the same minus the chrome door accents.

As for the PLUS body kit: I don't care for the front and rear lips. It's just bolted onto the same bumpers, thus making it look cheap, like a Corolla S. Had the body kit been integrated into the bumpers then that's worth it to me.

There are better looking kits such as Five Axis, unless you want to shell out $7000 for the Fledermaus kit.

I would go with Tommy Kaira bodykit. That's my favorite.

Actually looks very cool but in many ways quite embarrassing as well. Slower than probably every minivan (literally) on the market but dual exhausts?

That's what I was thinking too. I wouldn't want to be seen in a car that looked like that.

No offense intended ... to each their own. :D

    That be 'cause ur a L7. ;)

Speed is relative and driven properly by a skillful driver you can make any car justify its suped up looks.

I don't think I'd ever consider doing any sort of mods to my Prius. It just doesn't seem worth it.

Considering this package is mostly cosmetic anyways, and I think tires will make much bigger difference when it comes to handling. Wider tires will give better feedback through the wheel and better lateral stability compared to the stock 15" 195s.

Personally, I don't think the Prius handles too poorly, for an OEM car that has such a smooth ride, it corners fairly flat on the corners. The steering could have a faster ratio and more feedback but other than that, I can't complain.

My last car, which was an 04 stage 2 Subaru WRX, didn't use any OEM performance parts still sold for a hefty price for the year and mileage. But I imagine the target market for used cars and mods for either cars will be a lot different. Mods (done well and in good condition) made WRXs and STis worth more usually. Unless there were obvious signs that it was raced or abused. I can't imagine someone wanting to pay more for modifications on a prius, especially one that is mostly cosmetic.
