We always got 49mph, but last week it went down to 42. I opened the hood to check the air filter and found it packed with a mouse nest. I cleaned it out and told my wife. She said she found some paper in the glove box chewed up. I opened the box and took out the air filter and found it also packed. There was junk in the tube that goes into the box. I vacuumed it out, but now I want to add a screen to where the air comes in. Does anyone know the location where the air enters the car?
I'm really curious about the mouse nest in the filter under the hood. The engine air filter intake side is the side that faces down toward the ground. A mouse nest built there would be defying gravity. If you found the nest on the upper (outlet) side of the filter, the mouse somehow got past the filter and had access to the air intake of the engine. Did it chew a hole while clinging to the filter? Exactly where did you find that nest?
The nest was in the engine compartment was next to the dirty side of the filter. It was packed with cotton and seeds. The intake side was clean. Same with the cabin filter. There was a slight hole in the cabin filter. The mouse could have got through the filter and inside the glove box.
