I've been browsing the forums and trying to figure out what my best option is, but so far I'm unsure. I have a 2011 Model III with the JBL/XM/Bluetooth system (with the amp underneath the passenger seat). I would like to replace it with a double din unit with great iPod/iPhone integration, Sirius and bluetooth (I don't want to pay extra for Howard, and XM audio quality is atrocious). Bluetooth audio streaming would be nice, and so would a good navigation, but they're not requirements. Finally I want something that looks as "factory" as possible, and if at all possible I'd like to reuse the built-in hands free microphone and satellite antenna, instead of having to run more ugly wires. Thanks for your help!
I don't think you can use the factory BT mic. Using the factory XM antenna requires a shark fin adapter, $50-$60. I don't think the (sound) quality of Sirius is better then XM. Neither is very good. Kenwood offers a reasonable price for Sirius hardware. Also Advent. Advent has announced a Prius specific HU. Scheduled for release in the next month or so.
I couldn't find a single place that sold Advent. Nowhere to be seen on Amazon, Crutchfield, even fleabay... Any recommendation?
The Prius specfiic unit should be out in 30-60 days. The unit is intended to be sold excliusively by Toyota dealers. acdmobile in CA should have them, probably pricey. I don't know if any Toyotal dealers will wind up selling them on ebay. http://adventproducts.com/oemultimediasolutions/ if you want information on the HU
