Thanks. Yep, I'm extremely happy with it. I think the red would look good regardless of the color you have, but there's always the clear/chrome option if you prefer the look of clear tails on your particular color.

We are still working now to determine the hyper flash issue.

Will come up a new thread for Group Buy detail!!!

    Sincerely,

It sounds like a load detector on the car doesn't see the right voltage and current from the LEDs and thinks a bulb is out, which is similar to the European cars that have the annoying bulb-out light when you put in LEDs. Same thing happens when you use a low wattage output bulb as your turn signal (194 bulbs... I already tried this on my car).

Easy way around that are using 25W resistors on the circuit. I did this to my car with some LED bulbs I was testing with for the turn signals, and was still able to use the factory flasher relay and not the CF-018 relay. Works just fine. I have a bunch of them from my BMW projects since I had to buy them in bulk, and they work in other European cars just fine (tested with LEDs in a MB and Audi as well.... no bulb out light as the resistors corrected the load readings).

Good solution except the tests Calvin did suggest it's a defective harness rather than a problem with the built-in flasher relay/resistor, in which case using 25W resistors on the circuit won't fix the issue. A replacement passenger's side unit is on its way to Calvin.

Hmm, when I understand this right then these light do have a resistor for the turn lights already built in ? Can these be removed? I don't want to have them as I already have replaced the stock turn relay and it works well with any LEDs now. Replacing the relay is a PITA but still a cleaner solution than using resistors.

I've actually found that it's really easy to do, and you can actually see the relay when you look through an opening underneath the steering wheel (with a flashlight). Very easy to unplug the harness for the factory relay. To unplug the aftermarket relay, you need to hold a small flat head screwdriver in your hand to pry the tabs off, unless you have some strong fingernails. Still, pretty easy to do with one hand up underneath the dash. Once you've done it 1 or 2 times, you'll see what I'm talking about and it literally takes a couple of minutes to change out. Although since you're in Europe, I don't know if you have a RHD Prius, thus the placement of things may be different than the Prius cars in the US.

I wanted to take pictures of the relay through the small opening since I had the perfect view of it and thought to myself 'this would be perfect for some pictures.' But I was tired and on my back and didn't feel like getting up to go grab the camera, and then getting back down into that position again :p

The hyper flash issue is also very intermittent and only affects the right turn signal. On some drives, like this morning, the turn signal flashed normally. But on most occasions, the turn signal would just hyper flash. If the turn signal did continuously hyper flash at all times, then a flash relay would solve the issue. The hyper flash would go away when I have the hazard lights on. Additionally, the condition would also depend on whether the wiring is fully extended or bunched up(as how they would sit when installed). When bunched, the hyper flash was more prevalent. I've come to the conclusion that the problem may be related to a faulty harness. I tested the unit on another Prius and got the same results.
As 32k mentioned, a replacement unit is being shipped to me, so I'll continue the test once I receive it.

Correct. They already have a built-in flasher relay, eliminating the need for an external turn signal canceller box. They work right out of the box with direct plug and play. No modification necessary to make the turn signals flash normally.

Well, my supplier checked on these tail lights, and the manufacturer will only sell them at a ballpark $500 figure, for 3 or more sets.... They said that was the absolute lowest price they'd sell them for, regardless of any dealer/supplier/middle man/group purchase to anyone. Is that the kind of price that's been mentioned to you? Just wondering if I should go ahead and buy some, or wait for some lower price that you've managed to get...

TWP indicated in post #36 that the GB price will be $350-400 shipped to anywhere in the US depending on the number of people they get. Unless you feel like paying $500-600 plus shipping through your supplier (not sure if you can, as you obviously won't order 3 sets), I'd wait for the GB. Panson obviously gets a better price because he orders more than 3 sets.

Those Valenti lights would look great with the Fledermaus kit you're getting

yeah, I'd prefer them to the ones I bought on the last group buy. Those are still sitting in the garage in the box.... Just opened the box, looked at what was in there, then closed it back and they've sat there ever since. SO, now I've gotta sell them, I guess... The supplier over in Japan just said that no matter how many were purchased - 3 or 3,000...they couldn't sell them for less than that $500-ish price. Guess they lied! lol

So is that means I have to remove the aftermkarket flasher relay if I install this Full LED taillight? Then what will happen to my front signal lights if I already use LED bulb on that? Will that hyper flash on those?

SDM44 should be able to devise a solution for your particular case. Unless he responds here, I'd suggest PMing him.

I agree, especially with the blizzard pearl color. I think the SB would look great, although the chrome wheels might not match.

Here's the link to the posts where we made the purchases:
    http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...-motor-led-taillamps-group-discount-list.html
And here is a pic from Rodney in those posts several times, which I hope is okay to copy here, because it turned out a lot better than those 2 that I just went out in the garage and took!

That's the set I bought on the group buy before... They were $238.50... All I want is what I paid for them, and then whatever it costs to send them to whomever....
