Reading about OBD over CAN, great forum. However it seems that this data differs from the traffic i can log on my prius. Using CAN monitor pro and one homemade clone in C# with a lawicel CANUSB interface Steering ID remains at 025 but ABS wheel speed has changed and seems to be 0AA and in one data frame I post in reply the list of the ID tjat I log on a previous data acquisiton session and sample frames Thanks you for your help Please agree my best regards.

Hello, I'm trying to use the 2011 Prius refrigerant compressor to make a stand alone air conditioner and I would like to send the correct signals to the built in inverter to make the compressor run. This seems to be a 4 wire Serial Peripheral Interface (SPI) bus running at 12 Volts DC. Can anyone please help me find the correct protocol to use to communicate with the compressor? In the Prius, the Power Management module is the master that talks to the compressor as the slave and sends the required RPM. The Power Management module communicates via the CAN bus. Does the CAN bus run on 12 Volts DC? Thanks for any help you can offer.
Does the CAN bus run on 12 Volts DC? NO !!, CAN BUS use diferential signal, this work on 5V, 2 twisted wires. CAN_H, CAN_L plus one for CAN_Ground. I use the OBD connector to access the bus. CAN Ground can be vehicule ground but it also cannot be... Last but not least Prius use CAN 11 bit at 500kb/s, that's moving .. I use a Lawicel CANUSB, in the beginning i made a mistake in setup CANUSB speed...The CAR gone crazy, the display gone wild and the warning light switch on But NO PANIC, turn off the power, close the car, wait 30s ,open, power on , run a few miles, stop the car. close. Power on and the warning light is off :cheer2:
TOYOTA says NO, you cannot have access to this sort of critical information. You must paid !! not searching to understand ! Pay and be a gentle sheep... You have the capabilities toyota don't care !! This is a good philospohy that repsect the human being, progress an so on.... But even i must spend thousand an thousand hours of my lifetime on this smart machine, i'll never give up, NEVER !!
Hey Im looking to see if anyone was ever able to find the canID for the navigation - I've seen a few videos hacking it so that you can see the full menu screen but I wasnt sure if anyone was able to find a canID for it
