can you fit a 12" sub back in either the left or right holes. I don't wanna use any of the storage area though. Use as much room as we can so the storage bin still opens. I was thinking either a JL Audio 10w6 or 12w3 or even the 12w6... Mounting depth is over 6" though. Thoughts? Would two subs be overkill? One on each side of the storage bin. Thanks Ryan

One subwoofer is probably enough - it all depends on your definition of overkill. What counts for size is the volume of the enclosure; in this case the cubby, which would benefit greatly from an airtight enclosure moulded to the space. A 12" might fit physically, but it's not going to sound right if it's starved for air. From my discussions with the resident expert about a system in the Gen II, I think F8L suggested an 8" was optimal for the left cubbyhole.
A high-powered 8" sub will work in the cubby and not be starved for air. There are some new slim-line 10" and 12" subs available that require very small airspace and sound very nice. You could try one of the 10s or even a 12 if you are willing to lose a bit of the flush look. Teri Sohoo from Paradyme here in Sacramento really liked the sound of the new Pioneer shallow-mount subs. Ryan, All this advice is on point. I think the question is, "what type of bass response are you looking for?". If you like sound quality, and tight bass, the slims work pretty good. If you like deeper bass, and/or fan of hip hop, find a high end pro shop to fit a 10-12 a cubbyhole, fiberglass can help fit one right to the lip of the cargo lid... Good luck!!!!
So I guess I should have stated earlier I came from (2) 13w7 JL audio subs in my Acura TL with a ported enclosure. So I love me some good bass. I plan on running the JL audio 900/5 with 500watts going to a sub in some kind of enclosure. I was thinking of even taking up more of the room below the storage area on the same side. Basically below the false floor that is there Any additional thought I'd love to hear them.
