This might be sort of a niddling complaint, but I get logged out of the page just about every time I navigate away. It would be nice to not have to enter my login info every time.

I'm using firefox, and it actually seems like as long as I'm using the same tab it stays logged in, but I do quite a bit of tab switching and opening/closing of the browser, so I'd say about 75% of the time a fresh login is required.

Is this intentional? If not, is there a way to keep the cookie around longer? I should mention that on several other message boards I stay logged in just about permanently, so I don't think it's a cookie setting on this end.

If I'm the only one with this problem, then let me know and I'll be quiet and go sit in my Prius as a "time out" :p

Hey, glad to hear you're using Firefox!
    Go to Tools then Options.
Open the Privacy on the left.
Look for Cookies and if there aren't too many and you might want to clear them and start over, check for the PriusChat cookie to see if it's there. Make sure the check make is in the "Allow sites to set cookies" box is checked.
Then you can check Saved Passwords.
View to see if you have saved your password. Make sure your save passwords is checked also.
    That should work for ya!

I might be able to help, depending on whether your problem is different than mine.

I use Netscape, and I lose the automatic login anytime I quit the browser and return to 'www.priuschat.com'. However, if I quit the browser and return to just 'priuschat.com', I'm pre-logged on.

So, the solution (for me anyway) is to always return to 'priuschat.com'.

That saves me from typing a few extra characters, so I'm fine with it. :)

Man, I haven't used IE since Firefox went Beta :D
Anyway, I checked your suggestions and all was well there. I'll try Wayne's idea here and see if it works...

::EDIT:: sure enough... if I go to "www.priuschat.com" I'm not logged in. If I go to "priuschat.com" I am. Weird

::EDIT #2:: Ok, so I see now that when I log in on "www.priuschat.com", the next page that loads is "http://priuschat.com/index.php?act=portal" (no www). I bet this has something to do with it.

Hey Danny, is this something that can be fixed...?

No biggie to me, but I'm sure it is affecting others who don't know the quickie solution...

    Thanks! :D

    Your address bar should show:

    http://priuschat.com/index.php?showforum=19

That is the PriusChat Forums page.
You mat have caught a cookie that directs you to the wrong page or something like that
We're working on it, aren't we?

Right, after I'm logged in and whenever I navigate the forums, none of the addresses have the "www", they are all just http://priuschat.com/***

My link here from my homepage, however, has the www at the beginning (or at least it DID), so that's why I was always having to log in. I guess if one were to just bookmark the page right after you logged in, it wouldn't be an issue.

    That might be it.
    Have you tried it yet?
You like using Firefox? I have it here at work on my PC and and home on my Mac. Love the Mac!

I just wanted to chime in and say that I'm seeing the same behaviour with Firefox, but it used not to be a problem. Up until about a week ago I could go to www.priuschat.com and it would remember who I was.

It's around the time that the "View New Posts" link dissappeared from the Navigation window on the left.

Everything works fine as long as I leave the www off, like I said.

And Firefox is the best. I don't think I could live without tabbed browsing and a whole raft of extensions.

I've been accessing Priuschat on 3 different computers (one PC using IE, and 2 Macs using Safari 2.0.x). On the PC and one of the Macs, the cookie has always been working, but on the other Mac (my home desktop), it never seems to work--I always need to login.

That was, until this evening. Because I had been away, I actually hadn't visited the site for 2 weeks, but when I accessed it this evening from the home desktop, I was logged in automatically
