I've got an '05(which I love) with the nav. package. I plan on upgrading my cellphone to a treo 650 from verizon in the next few weeks. I've been following some of the threads about the difficulty of transfering the phonebook on verizon phones. My Question is- Is it possible to transfer my contacts from my current Palm Tungsten T to the car before I trade up to the treo 650? If it is possible-How? I've tried a couple of times with no success. Thanks
Hi Andy, What kind of problems did you run into when trying to transfer. I also have a Tungsten (a T5) and have been meaning to try this. I know that with my phone, I have to make sure to not include any dashes or () with the numbers. Also, I had to erase all the information (address, etc.) that came above the number I was trying to put into the phone.
I have not been succesful in getting the car and palm to recognize each other. I've tried a couple of different ways, but shortly after entering the 4 digit code on the palm, it fails to make the connection. Usually I go to the address book in the palm, got to the File menu->send->via bluetooth. Then I go to the car's MFD Phonebook->settings-> bluetooth. But no luck. Maybe I'll try sending the contacts list from the first menu on the palm (the one with the little icons for th address book, calculator, Etc.) Hmm... It's not a big deal I just thought it might be a way to work around the Verizon/Transfer issues.
I know nothing about the Palm, but you might review my PDA procedure in my signature, and maybe the PC version elsewhere on this site for clues that might help you figure out what else you may need to do. When you get a procedure, publish it. I've seen others ask, so I'm sure they would love to have something to download.
