If it makes you feel any better, my friend's 2006 with 85k just required almost $1,000 worth of work: The $977.55 Oil Change - Bob Is The Oil Guy And it would have been closer to $3,000 if I had not done most of the work myself, used some junkyard parts and had a CPO extended warranty.
Oh wow! Well, I decided to have the work done. I checked the fluid in the radiator to see if I had enough. It was a weird discolored mess. I told them about this, and they gave me a container of coolant (no charge) and put me down for a complete coolant flush. Got it back a day later (it was actually completed the same day, but I was too busy to pick it up), and checked it out. Everything appears to be in order!
Next time check out Plug In Hybrid Electric Vehicle PHEV in southern Indiana (not far from you). He is honest and better at dealing with Prius problems than dealer techs. JeffD
