The battery in the back looks like it got smashed a little. Do you think this is the cause of the lights? It was a small suv so it missed the bumper and went straight into the battery area. Trunk wont latch anymore the it got pushed in. Is there an electronic box back there that could have caused the lights to come on?
Possibly, but not necessarily. However it may explain the VSC & ABS lights. See below. A big suv would have gone right over the top. :madgrin: The hatch is probably kinda bent as well. Yes, as a matter of fact, the backup power supply for the brake system (a bank of capacitors inside a black box) is right next to the 12V battery. If it is also damaged, or if the wiring is damaged, it would explain the VSC (skid control) and ABS warning lights.
Yes, I see the capacitors a couple of them are bent and that box has been pushed forward. Would this explain the red triangle as well?
Toyota calls it the Brake Control Power Supply. I have no idea on cost. P.S. Why don't you let your insurance co take care of it?
