this one goes out to all the canuck fan's:canada:. i want to wish you guys all the best. i realize you have the better talent :hail:and we're gonna need everything we've got just to have a chance. and neither of us have won the cup in 40 years! should be a lot of fun. i'm just happy to be here, whoda thunk? now let's have a good clean fight and may the best team win. let's drop the puck!:fencing:op2:
Sigh Lightning fan it was bad enough to lose but what made it worse was it was a team from Boston only thing worse would have been a team from New York
sorry about that! it was a great game though, could've gone either way. hey, you just won a few years ago! p.s., love your coach btw.
Thanks, bisco. Fans of all colours tend to get a bit carried away, so let's just leave it to the players to decide.
As a Boston fan I just have to say the Canucks are one heck of a talented team - so fast and skilled - those Sedin twins are spooky - they work so well together and are so darned good. I just hope that Tim Thomas continues to play the way that he did last night - if so Boston has a chance - if not it will be over in 4 games.
Let's Go Devils!!! (maybe next year) I remember around 10 - 15 years ago, the different NHL trophies -- Stanley Cup, Hart (MVP), Vezina (best goalie), etc. -- were on an exhibition tour of the US (and presumably Canada). In New York City they were displayed at the Hilton on 6th Avenue. It was great to see the actual trophies.
Unfortunately I think we're headed into a bit of a dark period for the Devs.. Brodeur is coming to the end of an amazing career, and Lou is getting on as well. Plus there is still the coaching issue, and it remains to be seen whether the Kovalchuk deal was wise (there's also the loss of draft picks from that fallout).
I think so too. BTW, I was one of their attorneys during the Devils' first championship season. Funny story: We won the Stanley Cup. The next day, the General Counsel goes to the post office to mail a certified letter to the New Jersey Sports & Exhibition Authority. The postal clerk looks at the envelope, then looks up at the General Counsel and says, "Guess you're moving to Nashville." Lol. Good times.
that was a tough fought game. i hope #2 is a little cleaner. too many penalties imo. both goalies were great. we definately need the next one!
Funny how that works. Some games, it seems every little thing gets called, regardless of intent or seriousness. Other games, the refs swallow their whistles and bodies are flying everywhere. If only they'd tell the players before the game which it's going to be......
exactly. it's just like the strike zone in baseball. i prefer a minimum of calls. i think the game flows better and is more exciting. of course, if it's continuous fisticuffs, not much the refs can do.
It was so fast that I wasn't sure if that was actually the winning goal. I thought maybe CBC was splicing in replays of past goals for some reason. Then I noticed everyone coming onto the ice, and it was a happy time.
