Here's a few pics of my upgrade. I specifically stuck with a single DIN so my scanguage would have a place to reside. Amp is under passenger seat, and wires and microphone have not yet been secured, as well as getting rid of the white velcro under the scanguage. I love the way it came out ... cost me about $350 total including 4 new door speakers. revhigh did you wire into the factory wiring or use new speaker wire to hook up the aftermarket speakers?
I used the factory wiring, so I went from the amp's output to the wiring harness that crutchfield provided, which plugged into the factory wiring harness. Had it been a very high powered amp, and if I typically listened at very high volume, I would have run new wires to the speakers. Since it's only 50 watts per channel I decided that the factory 18 guage wires would be OK. It was actually a pretty nice install ... once you removed all the trim and the front seat ... took me about a total of about 4 hours for the head unit, scan guage, and amp, and I didn't cut any corners at all. I've seen some work that supposed 'stereo shops' do, and that's why I did it myself. REV
this sounds like more of what i'd like to do. i want to keep my rosen navigation, use factory wiring, change the speakers, and amp, but not have to splice anything. do you have a link to the harness that crutchfield provided you? i would definitely like to see it

Is the "AVG" for average speed? Isn't that displayed on the HSI? Does the Prius display oil temp on the SG?
AVG is average miles per gallon ... it's at dashes now because I was sitting still in my driveway ! I don't think it does oil temp (water temp is good enough) ,,, that's why I have FWT or farenheit water temp. It may be one of the customizable parameters, but I haven't messed around with them yet. I also have gallons per hour and RPM's which to me is VERY useful as you can tell exactly when the engine is totally off, as well as get a feel for the gallons per hour usage at a given RPM's. I REALLY love the scanguage. REV
Nice install, is that a Clarion HU? I really like the single DIN with the SG below it. I can't seem to find anywhere decent to put my SG and still be able to hide the wire. Right below the stereo looks like a perfectly good place, and looks great.
