Hello Prius experts, I have a 2010 US Prius and there is a sensor similar to the daylight sensor in my 2000 corolla on the dash near the windshield on the passenger side. I know that the US Prii do not have auto-on headlights. What is this sensor for? Moshe
Don't hate we when I tell you this - but I understand it's for auto-on headlights. It's an option, apparently, in other countries. No idea why not here. You can do a mod to use it however . . . ETA: http://priuschat.com/forums/gen-iii...modifications/64812-automatic-headlights.html
I know if I turn on the headlights just ahead of a tunnel, with dash light control just below the max click: Going into the tunnel the dash lights dim, then at the far end they brighten again, so the sensor would be running that as well.
