Don't know if these questions have been asked yet: Does the v have a remote release button to open the hatch, like what a normal car has to open the trunk? Related: is there an easy or mechanical way to open the hatch when the 12v battery is dead? Where is the 12v battery located?
I only know the answer to one of your question. The 12v battery is in the same location (rear passenger side). In the model (preproduction?) I saw, it has the same Japanese connector (smaller).
Thanks USB. It would be very sad if the v had no remote and/or mechanical hatch opening mechanism. We're talking 4th gen Prius already!
I didn't see the FOB of the base model so I couldn't tell you. The handle to close the hatch is just like Prius Gen2 (just a handle on one side). It was not like Gen2 where it has two places to grab and close the hatch.
