Here are the Prii I am looking at: 2004 - 96,000 miles - $11,499 - Used car lot 2005 - 112,000 miles - $ 10,499 - Used Car Lot - Black with leather. 2005 - 89,000 miles - 13,499 Used car lot 2005 - 130,000 miles - $10,999 - used car lot 2006 - 85,000 miles - $ 13,880 Used Car Lot 2009 - 47,589 miles - $ 19,988 -Toyota Dealer - Black - no leather i am thinking for the price, black, with leather - the 2005 for $ 10,499 is my best option. it does comes with a 3 month, 10,000 warranty from car lot. some piece of mind.... Thoughts?
Do they all have the same equipment levels? Do keep in mind factory leather wasn't available as an option until the 06 model year. http://priuschat.com/forums/knowled...andard-optional-equipment-some-countries.html might help w/your decision.
i'd go for the 09 if that's the best deal you can find. unless you're prepared to tackle the second hundred thousand miles of ownership. all the best!
I think on face value the one that you are leaning towards sounds like the best of the bunch. Just be aware that while the Prius has a great reliability record that any car with over 100k miles is a bit of a crapshoot - things will crop up sooner or later and you just need to be ready - I'd say you should keep a bit of cash in the bank just in case.
Be aware that the 2004-2005 Prius has the most aggressive traction control. It can't be annoying on slick surfaces and hills with ice or deep gravel.
I test drove a 2010 ( 1 owner ) from the Toyota Dealer today. Silver with tan interior. 19k miles $ 24,000 comes with lifetime ( powertrain ) warranty..+ Not impressed for the price.
I'm in the market too, Spcalan1. I'm doing my best to wait it out and get a better deal in 6 months or so. After reading threads on what members here got theirs for new... I don't want to pay almost $27,000 for a new Prius Two. There are ZERO dealer incentives right now, and little to zero room to negotiate. Well, none in my area anyway. I'd like a Prius Three with NAV and JBL, but I'm not paying nearly 30k for it. There are much better deals to be had down the road, new and used. Besides... I've only been interested in the Prius for a few weeks now, but I've been reading everything I can here. I don't feel like I know enough about them to actually own one
