Just watching the arrival of the US President's whirlwind visit to our shores,he'll soon be on his way to his ancestral home of Moneygall,County Offaly, hope it all goes well just like the Queen's visit last week,it lends to a feel good factor even if it doesn't sit well with everyone! Later this evening there's a gala celebration in College Green in Dublin's city centre with a lot of Irish bands, actors and no doubt a few chancers with President Obama making a keynote speech.
I would love to visit Ireland. Will you have a chance of seeing him speak (live)? BTW, this thread should be in FHOP, hopefully someone will move it there.
I won't get a chance to see him speak live, even though i'm a taxi driver in Dublin i won't be working later, traffic restrictions are huge, people have been queuing since 9am [GMT]this morning, one of TV stations is covering the visit all day including the "gig" later this evening, Apologies for posting in the wrong thread,i wasn't allowed post in FHOP...I don't know why,and i hope someone moves it.
Hope this and the Queen's visit last week will give Ireland a much needed morale boost. I love Ireland. Will come back for another visit in a heartbeat!
Me and the Mrs are hoping to go this year. My parents live down in South West Wales so Ireland is just a short(ish) hop over on the ferry. Either that or we'll fly. Just had a rather nice day off today, had a nice walk around a ruined Abbey and come home to chill and relax and all this talk of Ireland gave me a really good idea....... OK it's out of a can but mmmmm it's going down rather nicely and there are a few more keeping cool in the fridge
I DO. The OP drives a Prius and will utilize it to visit the president. Once the thread is moved Id encourage him to provide insight on the visit.
Anyone can post in FHOP (Fred's House Of Pancakes). Perhaps you tried to post in FHOPol (Fred's House Of Politics). FHOPol is opt-in only, and generally reserved for hateful political vitriol. Since your post is just news, FHOP would have been fine. Tom
