I have a 2008 Series I and have noticed a lot of "blanks" around the vehicle where the extra options would go, such as the backup camera. Are these set up to just add on the hardware as the packages detailed? Is the wiring harness for the features there, but just not utilized? I'm looking for some plug-n-play upgrades to do in the future. For instance, if I were to scavenge a junkyard and find a backup camera would I be able to add it on to my existing car easily? Perhaps the JBL sound system could be pulled out of a wrecked Prius and be used to my benefit. There's a junkyard in town that has one day a year that anything you can pack out is $100. I'd like to take advantage of this to do some upgrades.
No, package I on the second generation doesn't even have cruise control. Package II adds SE&ST (Smart Entry & Smart Start), Back-up camera, VSC (Vehicle Stability Control), MP3 & WMA with AUX input, and cruise control.
