I was looking at new, and I'm also considering used. Here's a 2009 Touring with basically everything. Looks like seller is trying to get retail for it. Do sellers usually provide VIN? I'd like to check it out. http://http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.jsp?ct=p&car_id=299599354&dealer_id=66277985&car_year=2009&systime=&doors=&model=PRIUS&search_lang=en&start_year=1981&keywordsfyc=&keywordsrep=&highlightFirstMakeModel=&search_type=used&distance=25&min_price=&rdm=1305685067419&drive=&marketZipError=false&advanced=&fuel=&keywords_display=&sownerid=43822134&lastBeginningStartYear=1981&end_year=2012&showZipError=n&make2=&certified=&engine=&page_location=findacar%3A%3Aispsearchform&body_code=0&transmission=&default_sort=priceDESC&max_mileage=&color=&address=43235&sort_type=priceDESC&max_price=&awsp=false&make=TOYOTA&seller_type=b&num_records=25&cardist=4&standard=false Here's the NADA info 2009 Toyota Prius Standard Equipment, Pricing and Information - NADAguides.com
Link is dead. Do you have another? I think the seller has to provide the VIN. I don't see how else you'd collect it's history.
Cars for Sale: 2009 Toyota Prius Touring in COLUMBUS, OH 43214: Hatchback Details - 299599354 - AutoTrader.com
It's a decent deal if you want a Gen II. I bought my 09 Touring #5 (no leather) for $23900 2 years ago w/ only 10k miles, so it seems pretty comparable given today's demand. Not sure how much that helps you...
I bought one of the first 2009 Base models, package 6, for around $30k. Nine months later I got one of the last 2009 Touring models, identical to the first including color and package 6, for $25.9k. So, I don't see the asking price as very good in light of the 30k miles it has. That's just my opinion and YMMV. (On the other hand, I love both of these cars and plan to keep them.)
That seems pretty accurate. $25.9k is $2000 more than I paid and yours had leather. Mine had 10k miles Certified but that's still pretty spankin' new. I think the OP's comparable price for 30k miles must be due to the high demand from gas prices and Japan crisis. Hey that rhymes.
I bought an 08 with 30k (no leather/nav or touring pkg) for 17,500 from dealership 6 weeks ago. I had to haggle but they need to sell cars more than i need to buy them. anything over 20k for a used gen 2 prius is questionable. It a USED car! Clazzio has very nice "leather/pvc" seat covers for around $300. Cheap upgrade and from what I've seen on the forums everyone seems to be happy with their product. Good Luck
Sucks to go anywhere near that $24.5k since T Sunnyvale was ad'ing 2010 V for $27.8k all last year, several at that price. But, if it's pristine, try for $21k? It might be out of 3 yr warranty in August (first ship of '09). btw, he better have every single one of those service records, printed and ready for you and all warranty, recall work, everything. None of this, I don't have copies BS. Make them prove the cars value to you. Learn everything you can about the car. Look for the nitpicky, detailed types.
All I can say is, if you buy it for that price, you should also ask the person you bought it off of to take you to dinner. That is if you like to be wined and dinned after you've been f***ed.
Guys guys guys.. It's not that bad. Pre-Owned http://www.toyotapaloalto.com/used-...SBmodel=Prius&SBbodystyle=clear&SBprice=clear
I think I'm just going to wait until inventory goes up, and prices come down a little. I'm in no hurry to buy. Then I can find the one I want with the options that I want.
