... for instance... would I only get Toyota Care at the dealership where I bought it? There are several nice Prii in North Carolina that I wouldn't mind looking at, but if I buy one and bring it back here to Ohio, will the warranty and Toyota Care be good at any Toyota dealer?
It does not matter where you bought the car. Any Toyota dealership should honor the Toyota Care service. I bought mine at a dealership 100 miles away and have it serviced at my local dealership, including warranty work.
Good to know, thanks! I'm waiting on a Prius II to arrive in my town, but it will be a few more weeks. Would love a Prius III, and it's slim pickins' where I live.
My dealer said that it was a Toyota program and I would get info from Toyota in about a month after Prius delivery. He did give me the phone number to call for road service in case I needed it before I got the packet. By the way, it was 6 weeks before I got the packet from Toyota. All is well.
The only thing dealer specific about the program, is that I got a bunch of coupons for the dealer that sold me the program. I have had no trouble getting the car serviced by my local dealer - Toyota Care was bought from the selling dealer, over 200 miles away.
It's not dealer-specific but it is VIN specific. Toyota tracks it using your VIN. Just had my 5000 mi service at my local Toyota dealer and car was purchased 60 miles away. Toyota Customer Care told me no coupons are required. Bought my Prius on April 8th of this year and am still waiting on the "Welcome" kit........
Like I said, it took 6 weeks before I got the packet. So you should get it any time now. Bought my Prius om March 31st. I was about ready to call about it.
Someone from Toyota must read this forum because I received my "Welcome Kit" in the mail yesterday LOL.
jamesa53- how do you like your II? That's the model I'm waiting on, but I'd really like a III, mostly for the upgraded stereo system and CD changer.. There's a III in Virginia that has everything I want (NAV) for an internet price of $26,645. The II I'm waiting on has a price tag of $25,037.
Those are purchase prices? Here locally, dealers tend to make internet prices above even the sticker price. I don't know why. You should try negotiating over the phone.
Yes, those are purchase prices. The III in Virginia isn't the MSRP, it's discounted a little bit. But it has about $3,000 worth of added options over the II for $1600 more. I haven't tried negotiating anything yet.
I am certain right now is not the right time to buy, if you can wait. I waited 5 months for the right time to buy mine. Hopefully patience can pay off again. Inventory will go back up sooner or later.
Yeah, you're right... and I'm in no hurry. That will give me some time to find the right one with the options that I want. Thanks sipnfuel, I really appreciate your input.
