Recently I have imported a used Prius (ZVW30) from Japan. But in Sri Lanka I can't use TV (does not view). Sri Lanka TV channels telecast in PAL mode. Please help to see Sri Lankan channels.
Is the head unit an OEM Toyota radio? If so, can you take a picture of it? I've never heard of a factory Prius radio with TV tuner function. Also, it wont work in your location because Japan uses NTSC system.
Japan uses NTSC and Sri Lanka uses PAL-B. Also Japan is using upper FM spectrum 90-108 MHz and lower VHF range. Therefore you will not be able to access Sri Lankan TV channels via your vehicle TV. However you will be able to here some FM channels. The best Option is to replace/add Separate TV unit. Do you have the reverse camera and park assistance. In that case you should keep the unit as it is much better than OEM version. If not you can go for a complete new set with TV/DVD/Radio/GPS/Reverse camera (would cost you around Rs. 70000)
