No, not a "movie theater", just a more quality display... I guess in contrast, I'd like technology that works well and looks great.
I"m always amazed and how higher technology pisses some people off.. There gotta be some reason to buy new models.. if they never improved, why have them?... Gives us something to upgrade to and look forward to..... And if you don't have it already in your car... it lets other people work out the bugs before you get one! I"m glad computers keep getting faster than mine.. so when I upgrade.. I don't have any problems!
P.S. I guess "he" doesn’t know anything about wearing a really great looking pair of shoes even if they hurt you feet …must be a Birkenstock guy.
I thought I was the only one bugged by the quality of the display screen lol. PS, I've never understood why women wear shoes that hurt their feet because they think they "look good". Nobody else cares enough about the shoes you're wearing to notice. Buy comfortable shoes that also look good. I'd also can the making fun of Birkenstocks thing...you obviously haven't met very many Prius owners.
Personally, I think it's fine for what it does. I've never had a problem navigating maps or anything else on it. Obviously from the looks of the lexus screen, it COULD be better. But if I could save money by having the lower quality, I'd prefer it. Unless of course it was being used for some other video, but for the basic prius info, plus nav, it seems more than adequate.
I did just check, and the Prius will be getting the new high res screen in 2006. Personally I think the screen is low in quality compared to other similarly priced vehicles. Honda's nav for instance has a much higher resolution screen with sharper graphics.
Combined the screen in the IS or GS and add the Mark Levinson Sound System and you've got yourself a theatre in the car. Although I didn't watch a movie, I did watch a demo DVD from the Lexus dealership in a GS430.
This was just the factory AV input from Toyota. It just has two "headphone-style" inputs, one for audio and one for video, and it came with an adapter to connect normal AV cables (red white yellow). Your Toyota dealer should know about it.
Thanks for the info. Now if the European Models only had the same connections, I'd be a happy puppy ;-) Oh, well. Will have to shop for an interface then. Alex
