So first of all, took forever and a day for SPX to get back to me initially, and when they finally did, it took even longer for them to get a contractor to my home to conduct a site survey. Finally, guy comes to my house, knows nothing about the product or SPX or anything. Then, takes SPX almost TWO WEEKS just to get a quote to me!! And when all is send and done, SPX has the nerve to send me a quote for over $5,000!!!!! Over 3K for installation!!! Are they out of their mind over at SPX? What do you guys think? It's only insane if you buy it.......just look for a local licensed electrician.......one that does the work, then you pay him...never pay before work is done. !!!
They took a long time getting back to us too so we just went with someone local who did the install for $200.
Are they going through concrete? Anything that seems out of the ordinary... the quote isn't that detailed. Seems maddening for what sounds like a simple install!
It's kind of funny. You can buy the Leaf's OEM "opportunity charger" that comes included with the leaf for under $700 and have pEEf ... here on this board (up in Berkely, CA) mod the existing power supply over to a switching power supply for under $200 and be out the foor for under a grand. But hey ... it the high price works for your, good luck with that. .
