It seems as if one of my fog lights are cracked, probably from debris on the NJ turnpike. Does anyone know if I am going to have to replace the entire fog light or just the front glass piece of the fog light??
The entire light. I found one online for under $90. I need one too. I had clear bra put on them to try to help, but one of them cracked anyway. Nate
How much are the fog lights if you go to the dealer to get one??...and do you know the toyota part number for it?
This may not have been due to road debris. Apparently cracked fog lights are somewhat common on the Prius without any sign of impact. Some have even managed to get them replaced under warrenty. <div class='quotetop'>QUOTE(fulostix @ Nov 14 2005, 10:27 AM) </div> You only need to replace the fog light housing and lens, it is one piece. That's the good news, the bad news the unit costs $120, just bought one today. I have the same problem, cracked lens, failed state safety inspection. Owners manual states to go to the dealer to change the unit and/or bulb. I work on helicopters and like most guys, first I will try it myself, then once I have broken something I will go to the dealership. Good luck. jeff

One dealership told me it wouldn't pass inspection. So I had it inspected at another dealership. I don't turn my fog lights on anymore. I guess if they were on during the inspection, they would fail. But since they're off, they get overlooked. [shrugs shoulders]
Not sure why Toyota uses glass lenses. I fashioned rock guards for mine and they still cracked. I just ignore them now.
I just got finished installing hidnation.com headlights and new fog lights in my 2007 prius. I found a website that sells 40 mill clear lens covers for just under 15 bucks from lamin-x.com and the Winjet OEM style fog light kit from tunersdepot.com for $75.95 for both sides including the wiring harness and switch. I had to modify the dash to accept the switch. I also wired it bypassing the headlights so I can turn on the fog lights without having the headlights on. Cool...
