XM Radio changed their channel numbers today. When I went to adjust my presets on my radio-they were already updated! How cool is that.:)

I was pleasantly surprised at that too - I was dreading all the station-changing I was going to have to do. I'm quite pleased it did it for me!:D

    I was shocked also.

Finally a company that had things thought out.

I received an email from Sirrius a couple of days ago telling me about the station number changes along with a listing of the new station numbers. It said in the email that once you turned your Sat radio on this morning that the satellite would download the new station numbers.

I was like the rest on here thinking that I would have to reprogram the preset stations. It was a nice surprise.

I thought this was cool as well. However, I think the new channels numbers are stupid. "20 on 20" was channel 20, now is 3. That makes NO SENSE!

You can be impressed but it was only Sirius that changed their station numbers. XM stayed the same .

They are two different radio systems now becoming more unified under the SiriusXm banner.
XM only changed some of their local traffic/weather channels.

I think you need to check the XM channel listings before and after. Many of the XM channels changed.

When I read their FAQ about the lineup change, I thought it was interesting that it said XM users' presets would update themselves within about 5 minutes, but it advised that Serius users would need to reprogram theirs manually after the change. I don't remember if it said that was for most or all Serius users though.

I was pleasantly surprised as well, but really for something that is digital it should have been expected.

I have two TiVo's in my shouse and probably about 50 season passes to various shows. Two times over the past 5 years theyve done some major channel line up changes. In both of those realignments my season pass recorded correctly on the new channels, and withing a day or so when I looked at the "season pass manager" all the shows thatI had listed had their channels updated.

You have to love the technology. It's amazing.

I have a Sirius plug and play that's about 5 years old (starmate replay) and it updated automatically that morning.

Cool. I don't know anyone who has Sirius anymore so I didn't pay much attention to that section. I guess it was only certain models then that didn't update presets. That's good to know!
