I purchased a 2011 Prius 3 with Navi, about a week ago. I was interested in, and believe people who are currently looking for a prius would be interested in know what deals others are getting. As stated i have a Black 2011 Prius 3 with a navi system. I was informed upfront by the salesperson that due to the current demand on the prius, i would be paying full MSRP. I had already known this, i do a lot of research prior to buying a car. We shopped at about 4 different dealers in the New Orleans Area. Each dealer had 1 to 3 cars (Prius) to look at, most only had 1 or none with the navi. One dealer had a extra sticker on the window, that said Adjusted Market Value $2000. This was a Prius 3 with Navi. They also had 2 Prius 2's, base models without the extra sticker. We liked the car so we sat down with the sales manager. I was ok paying MSRP but refused to pay the extra $2000. I talked him down about $1000, but they refused to go any further. Gas prices in this area was about $3.70 and they said that when they hit $4.00 California would start buying up all the inventory and they would pay $2000 over MSRP. Refusing to pay that much over MSRP, i walked out and called another dealer about 40 Miles away, they had one, and no $2000 markup, so we headed over. Turns out the dealership (Toyota of New Orleans) offered Lifetime Powertrain Warranty on all their vehicles, so with the warranty, no markup, we signed papers. Also i have read others on the forums talking about much better extended warranties available, and not to buy the one at the dealership. I agree, turns out our credit union offered one, which had better terms in every category. Also we got gap coverage through our insurance co. (Progressive) for a 1/3 of the cost at the dealer. I hope this info will be helpful to someone. I wanted to go into detail about our shopping experience, i would like to know about yours too, or at least what level car, price, extra's, etc...
I should be picking up my Prius 3 with nav Monday. I paid about $500 under sticker. The dealer was eager to sell me the car and upped the value of my trade in to compensate for not being able to come down off the sticker price. He said they were informed by Toyota not to sell any Prius for under sticker. I guess they know there's people out there that'll buy it regardless. Just I'm being charged $600 for remote start. I just founf out I can buy it thru here for $350 just have to get it installed but I'm going to call the dealer and see if they can work something out.
I also found a lot of info on this site, i wish i would have found this forum before the purchase, all in all i don't think i did to bad, i was talking with the dealer to have fog lamps put in, until i found the OEM-Quality lamps offered here, i ordered them last night.
2011 Prius 2 with remote start and bluetooth. Leasing it for $540/month at 5 years, 12000 miles per year. We had negative equity of $2,700 on our trade-in. I think I got totally screwed.. thinking about a buy-out or possibly leasetrader? Not sure what to do yet, but yeah..
Purchased a Prius Two with Paint Protection Film and 5-PIECE CARPET FLOOR MATS & CARGO MAT on March 28, 2011 paid MSRP.
i'm currently waiting on a black prius II with bluetooth and cargo mat from Longo. i already put down a $500 deposit for the car. the total OTD price is 27,278.94. i have yet to pick this car up. i've called just about every toyota dealer within a 50 mile radius from my house. this was the best deal for a package II. i was really looking for a white one though.
I just signed papers for a 2011 Blue Prius II, no extras except cargo mat/carpet. OTD was $26,733. 24,010 Sticker. Way more than I wanted, but I couldn't find it cheaper within 250 miles. I'd LOVE to hear what others in San Francisco are finding them for.
Will be picking up a Prius IV Thursday for $26,850. Destination - $760, Dealer Prep - $300 and floor mats - $200 for a total of $28,110. I'm quite happy with that. Z
2011 Prius III w/navi and solar/moon roof - $28740 bought Saturday, April 30. LA dealership where we bought the car is charging $5k over sticker. Told salesperson it was sticker price or no car sale - took about 20 minutes of haggling, but we got the car at sticker. Bought the car on the last day of April. Wonder if we would have been successful getting the $5k waved on Sunday, May 1... somehow I don't think so.
Cant find the car I want (III w/ Nav) under 1500 over MSRP. I keep getting the, "these are in high demand and there is a lack of them because of tsunami" line. I have a deposit down on a Winter Grey/Dark Grey III w/ Nav, should be here in 2 weeks, its on the boat as we speak. Projected price is $27,490.
