All- I was heartened after reading Colin McGraw's guide on fitting 3 car seats in the Prius. Looks like I can keep the Prius after all! But then the wife mentioned the double stroller.... I've got a new girl on the way in July and a 21 month old, so I need a double stroller that can handle both kids, that fits into the Prius. If you go on McGraw's advice the infant seat will be a Chicco Keyfit Travel System type, so maybe it's too much to hope for a double stroller that fits this seat? Any advice? I REALLY don't want to have to replace my car. -MKL PS - My dad's new Volt arrived yesterday and I am testing it out today. So far, mostly pros and very few cons. I beat my Prius commute by 45% with it yesterday. Alas, it only holds 4, so I can't consider it for myself with 3 kids.
Some brands may fit! I would find the double stroller that will fit before getting rid of my Prius. Hal
When the kids were babies, we usually used a front pack. Ours can handle kids up to something like 40 pounds. We have strollers, but we don't use them much.
21 month old can run, but sometimes a stroller is necessary. I'm looking for specific brands and models that people have fitted into the Prius. -MKL
We had a peg prego front to back double stroller that fit tight in prius and as kids got older we switched to a macclaren side by side double that allowed us to even put a decent amount of luggage in car just have to find right stroller to fit your needs.
The Peg Perego was a duette like I said Very tight fit but we made it work. Now the Macclaren triumph was an awesome stroller light weight could fold up with one hand and again did not take up much space
I know this is late to the thread. But I went through a hell of a time finding a double stroller and ultimately had to just buy one online and hope it fit. The good news is that we found the JOOVY X2 Joovy - 2015 ScooterX2 Stroller It fits very very easily in the trunk, but it fits leaning up against the rear seat so you won't have much storage back there. But it fits very easily and has been a life saver for us and our twins.
