I went to a new owners clinic at the Toyota dealership where I bought my Prius. The technicians had a brand new 2011 Prius II that they used during their question answer course in the service bay. They explained the car and showed us everything from the inverter to the hybrid battery. It was cool. The car was gray with bisque inside. The door fabric was gray along with the arm rest. It looked really cool. Toyota must have recently started this two -tone with the cloth fabric. The example car was produced 3/11. I wish my bisque interior had the dark gray on the doors and arm rest, because they get so dirty.
Yeah, as far as I knew in 2010, only the misty grey interior got the two tone treatment. Nice to see they made it two tone in another interior color choice. I had said way back how I'd have liked to see two tone even in the dark grey with the second tone being black.
Interesting, I just went to the Toyota 2011 prius website, and under interior pictures, it still shows one color for at the center armrest and door/arm rest under the interior pictures. They did update the caption under the picture to say prius four instead of prius iv but they must have used the old 2010 picture.
So the new owners event is worth it? Mine is coming up, but I'm off of work that day to prepare for my dad's 80th birthday party. I should be able to spare the time, but it's going to be about 25 miles each way.
We had a full dinner, chicken breast, salad , veggies, mashed potatoes, and cheese cake. Then we got to hear all about the car. They had a Camry and a Prius. We split into to groups and I got to talk a bout the Prius with a tech. It was fun!
The only new interior combo for 2011 is bisque with the black exterior color. Was the two tone a dealer option?
That sounds cool!. i think I'll try to make it. Our invite says "refreshments" so I doubt we get a full meal, but it should be interesting if it's specific to prius.
The car was dark gray II model. It had just been unloaded from a truck. It was stock factory. The dealer did not add the inserts.
It still could have been added at port before hitting the dealership. Haven't heard of this being done, but ya' never know anymore. I'll see if I can get an answer tomorrow if in fact this change has been made across the board for 11'.
