If you were willing and able to trade-in your Prius, what currently available vehicle would you trade for and why?

    Why would we want to?

If I could have afforded it (rather, if I didn't mind spending $44k on a car), I would have bought the HiHy. Other than that, I'm very happy with my Prius and wouldn't trade it in (except maybe for an 06).

Now, in 4 years, when I'm ready for something new, I'll probably trade it in for a new Prius, although it will depend on what other hybrids are available at that time.

    <_< A 2006 Prius.

I note with smiles that the resale prices on my 2004 are within a few $100's of the price I paid. Now... I MIGHT consider trading my '96 Camry on another Prius.

Good luck trying to get those retail prices !! I also have a 04 #9 for sale even though I'm below KBB I have had no offers at all,so even though there retail looks good in print its very hard to find someone that will pay that when they can buy new with a little wait! just my 2 cts

If I HAD to unload the Prius for some reason, I might consider the new Yaris for myself and use my wife's Corolla as our 'long distance' car. As reliable as the Prius has been so far (41k miles), I would hate to part with it.

    Umm... Ferrari F40?

    :D

Dropping back to reality for a bit, I've actually thought about this myself. There ISN'T any other vehicle I would trade it in for, as it would negate any current, past, and future savings. Not even for an '06, as I would effectively be turning back the clock...

I'm waiting for the Ford Fusion Hybrid, which should be launched sometime next summer. I think it should be a bit sportier than the Camry Hybrid (based on it's Mazda/Volvo heritage), may get better milage than the Camry Hybrid, and will include exotic items like height adjustable seats. : )

I'd trade it in for a GM EV-1 or a Toyota RAV-EV. I have NO interest in any other car (other than a Prius) by any other manufacturer.

OK, get the flames ready...I'm dying to trade my 2005 in on a Corvette coupe (if I can find one under 40K), but my wife is only going to let me trade it in on a 2006 Prius...which is fine with me!

I wouldn't trade it for anything. This car and I are together for the long haul.

I wouldn't bother, I do like my car. But, if it were totaled in an accident, the only car I'd consider is a 2006 Prius and that's because it has leather. I have a 2004 #9 that I'm happy with. My husband would prefer the leather but we can't justify the extra cost.

I don't intend to trade in my Prius. But I do like the Corvette, it's one of the worlds great sports cars. Great handeling and brakes, more power than anyone should ever have, looks good, and gets better mileage than most SUVs. I'd like to have one just to tool around in on summer evenings, maybe when I win the lottery. Unfortunately I haven't bought a ticket yet.

Or another non-performance oriented HSD vehicle.

No trade for me. I've put to much into my 2005. (XM Radio, Rear Camera, Side Mouldings, EV Switch, Chassis Stiffening Plate, Winter Floor Mats, Clear Guard on the entire front end, and Solar Gard Window Film). I guess I've been busy the last 6 weeks.
