Nissan recalls 5,300 Leaf electric cars Nissan recalls 5,300 Leaf electric cars | The Tennessean | tennessean.com Nissan Motor Co. is calling 5,300 Leaf electric cars back to dealerships to fix a software glitch that can keep them from starting.
Helo o o o o o, Anybody bother to read the source? Detroit AP? Um no . . . . . I guess not. Anywy, it's not a recall. There's a voluntary service bulitin relating to about 10% of the Leaf's. A service bullitin is something less than a recall. You take your Leaf in ... they flash an ECU ... run a few test to make sure all is ok, and you're on your way. But then ... that's no where NEAR the drama. And you KNOW we gotta have drama. .
I thought it was pretty damn funny that the article itself says "Nissan says it's not a recall", yet right there in the headline they call it a recall. Someone needs to fire their copy editor.
I'd call service bullitins and recalls recalls. What do you think collateral damage is? It is really minor, and the distorting thing is that is way more leaves than the us has in customers hands. Later in the text it says less than 500 customers in the us are effected. I'm glad they are getting it taken care of fast. This is much better behavior than many auto companies.
