    HI to All.

I enjoy reading just about all of the threads in this forum.

In 2 of the threads that I have read, I have surely cracked a laugh or two. :D
Those that come to mind is one thread about whether to fill the tires with Nitrogen or not, which lead to someone filling the car with Helium so that it glide farther.
The other was about someone with a dog that doesn't like to ride in the Prius, etc. etc.;)

    Hi bisco.
Don't have a Prius or an Insight yet, but will wait a bit more. I am really interested in the PHV models. Maybe Honda will get off their butt and make one. Although from some of the threads that i have been reading they might come out a hybrid version of the Fit..

If you have questions regarding the Prius - you might want to read here first since I compiled a lot of information in there - then back to PC where you can find some more!

Welcome. And if you want a demo of a Prius with an add on, plug in battery pack, I'd be happy to show it off. I'm in North Dade or West Broward.

Hi Newbie! I have driven the Civic and Insight (hybrids? - and waited for the Hyundai Sonata Hybrid also - vapor ware?) and The $Volt is not sold here in SW GA.
The reason I chose the Prius ;) over the Honda's was: to me they did not run on just electricity as an option. This means the only 'true' gas savings were when you were not moving!? I know the dealer said the electric motor 'helps' the engine, but still...
I get a big kick when the Prius' MPG meter is +100 MPG when driving! :)
    NO Gas Used!

    Spiderman,

My current ride is a Honda Civic 2011 w/1.8L engine.
I've had it for a month now & has better mileage than previous 07 Camry. I was looking to test drive a Hybrid but they were all sold out. So decided on the Honda Civic for now & hoping that 2012 has something better.

    Octane,

Are you by any chance associated with the Enginer installer in Opa-locka, next to the airport?
If so, I'll get in touch with you & take you up on that demo of a Prius w/the Batt. Pack. Can you do this on a Saturday?

    Zedknepplin,

I understand your comments about the difference w/Honda & Toyota in regards to hybrid vehicles. I am also in full agreement with you in the use of more electric vs. gas engine. The less gas we consume the better it will be for all concerned. The only one's that will be biting the bullet will be those making those HI profits on the sale of gas.
I just saw in another forum (CleanMPG) that Honda displayed their Civic Hybrid for 2012 w/EPA of 44/44/44. Their interior does look better and they have gone to a similar display as that in the Gen.III Prius.
The problem with the all electric is the range on a single charge & the time that it takes to recharge the batteries. Not the same as hooking up to it and using 5 minutes to recharge. Although there has been talk of having like a battery exchange outlet. Where you drive into a place & exchange your batt. pack for another fully charged unit, but I don't see even that taken just 5 minutes to do.
The way things are going I would say that in 10-15 yrs. the demand & therefore the price of gas will come down considerably or go down to pennies/gal., look what has happened to the Vaccum tube which has been replaced by the transistor. Even in the broadcast transmitters where there were still using hi-power Vaccum tubes, those have already been replaced by a solid state design.
Maybe 50 yrs from now the ICE maybe a thing to go look at in a museum.
