How can you change to accessory power, after the car has started, without having to turn the car off then on again?

If this isn't available as a feature (which is the case with all key operated ignition cars), its a little frustrating.

I don't know of a way to do it other than with the car in ready mode and in park just hit the power button 3 times. (or 2 times if you don't need 'full' accessory mode and just want the radio)

On a keyed car you just turn back on the key, so with the Prius you hit a button a few times...

I agree. I have been trying to figure that one out too. Just minor thing overlooked I suspect.
Even going from ACC to off would be nice too rather than going to the "full ACC" mode then off.

Why not just leave it (the hybrid system) on and in park? The engine isn't running anyway.

But the ICE would kick in when the Prius decided it needed it.

There are times when you want to go from READY to ACC-ON like when fuelling at the gas station and you want to leave the radio, aircon etc on for the passengers while you fill up but don't want the ICE starting.

Was easy in my old key ignition car.

    Hit the EV button.
Cycle through quick, you can hit the button 3 times quickly. Not sure about leaving the AC on when not in ready mode, don't know if that will work will it?

Then it should run if it needs it. Otherwise you'd be depleting the battery to a dangerous level. Leaving the hybrid system on is recommended when operating the A/C for an extended period.

Obviously you'll have to turn it off in that case. All other times just leave it on.

What I do at a gas station is apply the parking brake and shift to "N", that way the engine won't start (*) but I don't have to turn the car off/on to keep AC/heat on.

(*) assuming the ICE is off, that is. If you shift to "N" when the ICE is running it will stay running and also not charging the battery, the worst of both worlds.

Pressing the power button without pressing the brake goes from "off" to "on". I believe the OP wants to go from "on" to "acc" without going from "on" to "off" to "acc"

All I know is that I sit in my car at lunch for about 45 mins with the vehicle started, running the a/c and radio (ECO mode) and the engine has yet to turn on after 4 weeks. Now my battery is down to 2-3 bars by then but it charges pretty quickly when I head home on the fwy.
