I live in Naples, FL and jog every morning on the beach. Just purchased a 2011 Prius III, Barcelona Red with Bisque cloth seats. Love the car, not just for the mileage (averaging 48.5 MPG so far) but find it to be quiet on the highway and just fun to drive! Concern is ruining the Bisque seats by the fact that I sweat a lot during my morning jog and getting into the Prius to drive home soaked in sweat is not going to do those fabric seats much good. Currently putting down a heavy cotton towel but with summer coming on the issue will become even more concerning. Of course, simple solution is just to continue putting down a towel. Suggestions?
I just got my Wet Okole seat covers and installed them. Matching the "Bisque" interior on my 2010 III was a challenge. I ended up getting black with "beige" piping. They were not cheap but they are very nice. Fit is excellent and they are very comforatble. They add padding too. I got the optional lumbar support and it really improves the seat's support for my lower back. I bought them because I have two young kids and I knew the seats would not stay clean otherwise. The color is a bit dark for Miami though.
i had same issues about 7 years ago in my single days. was member of gym which i visited daily before work. it was less than a mile from my house so on good days, i biked it. on bad days (we have a LOT of them) i drove. i saw no reason to haul everything there to take a shower so i did not. i simply use a towel and sweats. basically something i could put on afterwards. it worked. probably not perfect but exactly how much sweat are we talking about here? i suggest any good quality sweat suit. most are umm, well, dont know what they are, but not cotton which has a tendancy to absorb and soak thru. but more like a nylon kinda thing. worked well for me, but now i am not in an area that is as warm as yours so heat is an issue and not sure how comfortable you would be wearing a long sleeved sweat jacket, but i found it bearable even in summer. now doing it early before the big heat of the day also helped a lot
I picked this up from Pep Boys for $9.99. It's called a Deluxe Poncho Seat Cover, made by Bergan. The pictures aren't the best, but you can see it's terry cloth on one side and a waterproof vinyl on the back. It simply slips over the headrest and does a good job of covering the seat. I believe Bergan makes seat covers for pets, but this serves my purpose and keeps the sweat off the seats after a run...
I use save-a-seat for when I finish muddy mountain bike rides. They're convenient by the way they roll up and store when not in use. They're actually pretty easy to put on and the cloth is washable. http://www.amazon.com/dp/product/B000BIVDWU?tag=priuschatcom-20
That is Perfect! Thanks for taking to time to share photos of the cover. I see we have a Pep Boys north of Naples in Ft. Myers, FL. Will give them a call and purchase it. Thank you!
