I have an 08 that seemed like it was pulling slightly to the left. Took it in and sure enough, the alignment was off. Immediately saw 4 mpg improvement on the way home. I wonder if some of the new tire problems alleviated by high tire pressure are really masking alignment issues... BTW, Firestone does a lifetime alignment on their "Laser" rack. Every vehicle that I have had done on this type of machine has seen a mileage improvement....
I echo this comment. In my case, the rear alignment in my new 2010 III was so bad that it wore out the tire in 5,000 miles. The alignment not only improved gas mileage, the ride got much quieter. Had the same experience in my Matrix, too. I thought I had a bad wheel bearing. Did the alignment and the car got quiet and gas mileage went up.
