Ford's Keypad entry

    might be easier to wire in a hidden (inside a wheel well or under a bumper) all weather switch to pop the trunk or unlock the doors. you might also have to remove the battery on your smart key to let the car lock with the key inside.

    Another problem is; an anti theft alarm might go off if you do that.:mod:

    Why not just surgically implant a smart key into your thigh? :tinfoil3:

    I would love Ford's system because I'm a surfer and can't take the key with me in my wetsuit or trunks. Do any of you have an alternative?

    Discussed in other threads. Take spare key out of your fob, wrap fob in foil and leave hidden in car. Lock door with key, go surfing, then reverse process when done surfing.

    That's an interesting product RobH. I will look into something like that because wrapping my fob in tin foil just seems Mickey Mouse to me and I want a more permanent solution.

    You would still need to take the battery out of your fob, or wrap it in foil/shield it somehow if you want to leave it in your Prius while surfing.
