The Toyota Prius is the first vehicle with alternative drive technology to win first place in the TÃœV Report:
the hybrid pioneer from Japan is top of the rankings for three-year-old vehicles with the lowest rate of
major defects, namely 2.2 per cent.
The winner of the TÃœV Report 2011 is the Toyota Prius. Of 100 vehicles tested, around 2.2 per cent failed the first of the periodic inspections required by law during a vehicle's lifetime. "This good result for the Prius
sends an important signal for wider acceptance of alternative drive technologies" says Dr. Brüggemann.
