:der::lol:The craziest damn thing you'll hear today: 80% of BMW 1 Series owners think their car is FWD — Autoblog
^ +1. I'm with USB. They bought it cause it was the cheapest BMW and they know nothing about cars. Those that price out a 128i or 135i find themselves fairly close to 3-series coupé territory.
My Aunt bought a Chrysler product that her son suggested for her and they didn't know it was rear wheel drive. Now she can't go anywhere in the snow. People get what they deserve.
Tony, we've been through this before: D is for going forward, R is for backing up. It's not normal to drive facing backward. Tom
They might know jack scheeet about their bimmers but man those 135i can really stretch its legs, we're talking about almost M3 speed for a fraction of the price.
What? The Prius propels itself on rainbows and the love of puppies and kittens. This "wheel drive" thing is for lesser vehicles.
Sounds about right to me! Seeing this thread reminded me of this winter BMW 1 series clip from the UK (hence RHD car). Notice which wheels the woman clears of snow at the beginning of the video
I wonder if there's a significantly lower percentage of 3, 5 or 7 Series owners who think their car is front wheel drive? It wouldn't surprise me these days, if a majority of owners of BMWs, Mercedes and other rear wheel drive cars -- and perhaps a majority of all car owners -- thinks that cars are either front wheel drive or 4 wheel drive.
