Ok so i've had my Prius for around 2 weeks now and I absolutely LOVE IT! I've been looking around to see the different mods people have done to their Prius and I picked the ones that I liked the best.

Here's what I did to personalize my baby with pics included below!

    • Painted wheels black with VHT brand Black Gloss wheel paint from SummitRacing.com
    • Used that same paint and painted the previously gray colored fog light openings black
    • Installed Hopkins Backup Sensor System from etrailer.com (Lengthy install but works great!)
    • Installed SharkFin antenna from JuicedHybrid.com (FYI Radio reception still same as before..about average)
    • Tinted windows all the way around 35% (Thats the legal limit here in Massachusetts)
    • Installed illuminated Prius door sills..bought on eBay (Install time about 2 hours..fairly simple)
    • Installed ProClip brand GPS mount for my Garmin Nuvi
    • WeatherTech front rubber mats (From JuicedHybrid.com - Perfect fit..made of tough rubber..awesome Mats)
    • Rear hatch area cargo Mat (Keeps the cargo area nice and clean...but accessing the cargo organization area a lil tougher)
    • Had reverse beep set to only beep once - Boch Toyota did it for $50.00
Thanks again to all the awesome members here!

Can you get your money back for the reverse beep? They should have done it for free

They dealer is Boch Toyota in North Attleboro, MA. They bill themselves as the #1 Toyota Dealer in sales. I would assume they had dont this mod before...

The service adviser seemed very confused by my request and said he wasnt even sure if it was possible because it was a "safety feature" He told me to wait and he went into the shop and asked someone and came back and said they can do it, but it may take up to an hour of labor. Ended up taking a half hour or so.

I've read in this forum that a lot of dealers do it for free because it takes only a few minutes, but not this one I guess. Not worth my time to go in there an contest it.

    Thanks though.

^ just a drop in the bucket. maybe you can ask for a credit if they "value" you as a customer the next time you are there. a wink and a nod might help.

your ride is looking sick. i love those illuminated door sills. please provide more details on those.

Forgive me for not knowing all the different versions and numbers... I'm pretty sure I have a 2010 Prius 1..its the stripped down Prius with no cruise control, EV mode, rear wiper, etc. etc.

Dealers sell the 1's used...The salesman told me I was getting a Prius 2..In all my excitement I didnt even notice all the stuff that was missing until I got home and starting realizing things didnt look right...

Then I came on PriusChat and the sad truth was revealed...I was very angry... if the dealer wasnt so far an the people there not so dumb would have taken it back..but whatever, I got a good price and is platinum certified so im over it now.

    Congrats and nice mods!

Wow! How'd you get your hands on a Prius I? They were only for fleet sales.

Edit: Ahh ok, it was used. Well I hope you got a really good price cause the I is missing a number of things.

Thanks Tideland Prius... Yes got a very good price.. According to an article I saw, Prius 1 doesnt have the following:

    • Touch Tracer Display
    • Cruise Control
    • Smart Key
    • EV mode
    • Rear wiper
    • Tonneau cover
    • Heated side mirrors
    • Satellite radio antenna and satellite capable radio
    • Rear armrest with 2 cupholders
    • 2 speakers
    • Rear heater duct
    • Passenger seatback pocket
    • Foldable rear headrests
    • Underbody spoilers/spats
The only thing I mostly care about is not having cruise control... A little annoying as I like to take road trips. But i'll live without that and all the other stuff. It gets 50 mpg's and thats really the point right :)

Just out of curiosity about Prius I, is the color still Blizzard Pearl White (little bit off-white with metallic paint job) or Super White like on the previous generation Prius?

It's the Blizzard Pearl White...I even checked the color code on the door to make sure because thats the color I really wanted.

OMG if I got home finding out I had a Super White Prius I I think I would have really lost it lol

Love the Mods. I am a new owner too .....just a few weeks. Love the forum. Great info. I had the reverse beeps minimized to a single beep and had the seatbelt tone turned off. They didn't charge me for it but was expecting them to. Great surprise. I want to get mud guards but I am torn between the Euro and US style. I like the Euro but afraid they are too big the US afraid they will be too small and look funny. I have read on here and searched but still not enough found to make a decision. Any advice or suggestions will be helpful.

Thats cool you are loving your Prius! Nice one getting those noises turned off for free. Personally, I really dont like the mud guards being on there, the look of them anyway, but thats just me.. enjoy.
