3-29-11 On a long interstate journey recently, I opted to stop about every hour to stretch, etc. As I was filling up my 2009 Barcelona Red Touring Edition, a 15-passenger Ford van drove up behind me. There were at least 10 adults in the van. Mentally calculating the van's mileage, and as the driver returned to see that the pump for the van was still filling the van , I returned my hose to the pump. At just such a moment as this, I mentioned to the diver.....I just hate it when it takes 4.5 gallons to fill up.....
Considering the van had 10 passengers they were getting better effective mpg per person than you were.
I think I'd call that more of a top up than a "fill up". Unless you really are paying just $1.35 per gallon there. Hey if that's really true then I'm moving to Bastrop (near Austin).
LOL that was a good one! If the van diddn't have an orange triangle on the back they probably weren't Amish
If one calculates the different stops the bus driver would have to do to drive each person home or the gas each person would spend to drive to their place, I think the figures might even out Unless the were Amish, or FLDS
