Hi. Last Friday I traded in my beloved 2007 FJ Cruiser for 2011 Prius. I really did not want to do it but the practical side of me prevailed. I use my vehicle for business, and with gas prices heading to levels where the FJ would have been impractical, it was the thing to do. I'd owned the FJ since August 2006 and I'm really going to miss it. Oh well.
Anyway, I hope to learn as much here as I did over on fjcruiserforumsdotcom, and to one day be able to contribute as well.

You will love your Prius. Especially at the gas pump.

Welcome to the forum. I come from a long line of personally off road modified 4Runners. I feel your pain.

I'm probably gonna buy a 1st gen 4runner as a 3rd vehicle when I can find one in decent shape. Hey, what is the "glow powder filled shift knob" in your sig?

Congrats on your new Prius and regrets on your FJ, but it may be for the best. Welcome to PriusChat. Enjoy the high MPGs, technology and low-emissions.

Here is the link to the glow powder thread.

I've been considering and looking at getting another 4Runner to off road only but not so much that has to be trailered. There are some very good prices out there right now.

Welcome and congrats on the Prius. I feel your pain as I gave up a Jeep GC when I traded for the Prius.

So far, I have only had one occurrence where the Prius could not carry what I needed. I have the next best thing, though, a son with a small pickup truck :)

The advantages of the Prius have proven to far outweigh the disadvantages of not having the Jeep, though.

I made much the same change as you did, with trading my '06 F250 Super Duty. I loved the ability to drive over and through anything...but not for what it was costing me at the fuel pump. I'll think you'll find that when you're putting $30 in at the gas station and driving twice as far as you did in the FJ, you made the right choice.
