Well my wife and I are. We have over
46,000 miles and just came back from a round
trip to Cabellas in Lacy Washington.

    Indicated 55.9 MPG actual 53.22.

While passing through Astoria Oregon on
our way to Cabellas I noticed the lowest price
for gas in a no name station was $3.669.

On our way back later in the afternoon the
same station the price was now $3.769.

$4.00 a gallon is only a few days away if the
    current trend continues. Diesel everywhere
is now well over $4.00 a gallon.

I noticed our local Toyota dealer had about 12 prius's
a couple of months ago. The last time I checked a few
days ago there was only three left.

    I wonder why......

I am sure there is a downside to owning a Prius, I have had mine 2 years today and 61,000 miles, and I have not found it yet.

Yes is the short answer. Long answer: as far as I can tell, best decision I've ever made :)

Absolutely going on three months now and just rounded 5,000 miles. Fuel prices here in the islands are already exceeding the $4.00 per gallon mark. I am looking at a used Gen. 1 right now but I don't think the wife will let me get another car. I would not mind having one of each series.

OH YES. Just bought it on the 15th.
I am getting 51.5 on the highway and 49.5 in the city thus far.

I have owned lots of cars over the years, MG Midget, VW bug, VW Van, BMW Convertible (my second favorite), and lately a 2008 Toyota Tacoma, and now the 2010 Prius.
Prius is winning out so far by a long shot.
Partner is also considering getting one for himself as soon as his Mazda dies, which will probably not be for another 5 years.

Buy through Hertz-rent2buy. Save about $2,100 over CarMax and even more over the dealer.

Glad I bought it, one week later Japan had the earthquake and the prices of them jumped $2800 on hertz, and even more at the dealership here.

After owning it for over 141k miles, the answer is absolutely Priusing YES. It is a feeling only a proud and satisfied owner can understand.

Just bought my new Prius three weeks ago and have already put 3000 miles on it. What a joy to own and drive. I am a Toyota fan, having had two 4-Runners and an Avalon. I also have a Nissan 350 Z Roadster. This, by far, is the best vehicle I have owned. It handles extemely well, has plenty of power, is comfortable to ride in on long trips, and most important, is already giving me 48 MPG (hand calculated). Thank you, Toyota.

    Yep. I'm happy with mine.

For a non-sports car, my Prius replacement (whenever that happens) will be another Prius, some other hybrid or an EV. I hate driving non-hybrids in city traffic and stop and go.

When my Z is due to be replaced, if I can't get a decent hybrid sports car, fuel economy will be a consideration.

    Yes.

My wife isn't so happy though. There's how it drives, she doesn't like the blind spots and there are various small annoyances for her. She doesn't think the Civic's perfect but she prefers it. Next replacement (2018 or later) will be replacing "her" Civic and she won't be buying a Prius. I'm just hoping there will be a satisfactory BEV by then. :p

Are you suggesting that there are other car choices out there? :)

Still got less than 700 miles on my 11 Prius2. For some reason I'm still hanging on to what was my all time favorite car, a 2001 Solara convertible. I may keep it and drive it on "convertible days". It only has 120k on it.
Since having the Prius however the Solara has not left the garage, so I'll wait and see........

5 1/2yrs, 47K miles, 49.4 lifetime mpg, 87 octane here hit $4.03 today, Never been in the shop except recall to replace coolant pump at no charge. (I do my own regular service)
Am I happy? You bet your sweet bippy I am!

Waiting for my new Leaf delivery (hopefully in a couple months). Let gas prices go to $5 and higher. That's apparently the only way the gas guzzlers will go by the wayside where they belong.

Over 2 years running, and we love this car. My biggest problem is I tend to also use it as a truck!!! My wife has to remind me that is what the big pickup is for - hauling and towing large, heavy objects!!!:eek::eek:

18 months and 26,000 miles and I am still very happy that I bought a Prius. The recent gas price jumps have not hurt this any either.

I have a 52 mile RT daily commute and have never had a car that I have enjoyed driving as much as the Prius. I drove my wife's Honda Accord the other day and it made me realize even more how much I enjoyed the Prius. I missed the interior quietness and actually got bored with not having any MID screens to monitor on the way

So far.. my Frontier is still going strong (although the repair bills are starting to add up just a bit), so I'm glad and happy that I don't have the $400.00 per month note..

YES! With a little over 1,000 miles I can say that I'm very happy with the car. A few years down the road, I'm pretty sure I'll be saying the same thing. Hopefully a lot of what other long time owners have been saying.

    Yes ... absolutely.

For my present situation (and for the foreseable future) I could not have done better.

At a time long past .... I enjoyed by Mazda RX-7 perhaps more .... but that was in "another life."

    Yes and never going back!

Toyota have made a friend for life (well until something else as techy comes out).
