I've been researching on PC for weeks, and now I'm getting my 2011 Winter Gray Four in just a couple hours! This site is awesome! I'm looking forward to spending a lot of time here, when I'm not in the Prius!

If you have not left yet there are a couple of things you might want the dealer to change.

Backup beep. The car beeps when you back up. The dealer can turn that off.

Seat belt beep. They can turn it off. Some dealers will not do this.

Those options have to be done by the dealer or a special OBDII tool.

Either you or the dealer can set all the doors lock and unlock using the door lock sensor or the remote keyfob.

Thanks for all the well wishes! I read about the beeps beforehand. My dad has a OBD II scanner. I'll probably get those beeps taken care of this week!
If you bought your Prius new, how long did you wait to change the oil? I'm pretty fanatical about oil changes. I was thinking after the first 1,000. Should I wait until 5,000?

I would do the first oil change at 3,000. Just my opinion. 1,000 miles seems like you would be throwing your money away.

You know, I'm kinda just the opposite about oil changes. If the owner's manual says that 5K or 10K or whatever the cycle, I let it alone and change oil as directed. I think I'm this way because I'm too cheap to buy extra oil/filters.

Where are the pics? As a new owner, what are your impressions now that you have had it for the weekend?

Congrats! You are buying the most sophisticated, well executed hybrid on the market. Don't let the fuel economy on the first tank discourage you - there is a learning curve to get the most out of it and the car will also need to loosen up a little. My wife doesn't hyper-mile, but still turns out tank after tank at 50 mpg +. Enjoy!!!!

    Congratulations
had mine for over a week now.
I was told 10k oil changes unless we live in a dusty area.

How are you enjoying the new car?
