Has anyone seen the Barcelona red? We ordered a Prius in spring and are now awaiting an 06 and wonder if we can see the color to see how it compare with the Salsa Red.

We are patiently (yeah right) waiting for our Prius, but apparently can still change colors for a couple of weeks according to our salesman.

He's right, they won't be eligible for the 2000 deduction. Instead they'll be eligible for a CREDIT of nearly $3000. Of course a new 2005 purchased in 2006 will also be eligible for the credit, should there be any left.

2006 Prius base price: $21,725. WOO HOO! See separate 11/4/05 threads, incl. one purporting to list package prices (but from a dealer, not Toyota HQ in Torrance, CA).

    Why you wanted more?!

That's average I guess for a new model year... And considering that the base model now has more like the low tire pressure notification that's really not bad.

Sounds like something Barry White would sing about.

Re Seat positioning, Toyota should allow the front seats to travel back more and have a height adjustment, even if it's manual. For a 6'+ person that likes to sit with the seat back up straight, it's too cramped and high.

The interior of the Prius was designed by a Japanese woman. She apparently though tall people would never drive it.

I took my Prius to a handicap retrofitter that also retrofits cars for the Boston Celtics. They added three inches of backward travel to my front seats. Now I have tons of leg room. Also, since the seat rails angle slightly down, the farther back the seat is, the lower it is. I would still like the seat a little lower though.

The seats were moved back by removing the mounting pedastals from the seat rails, welding on three inches of steel, then welding the pedastals back on three inches forward from the original position. The work was done by New England Wheels in Billerica. They charged less than $300 and did an excellent job.

I'm with you on the lumbar support!.... I read somewhere that after 100K miles there was virtually no wear to the pads!!! I guess you have to almost press the brakes all the way down to get friction braking to even engage, regenerative braking always does the work.
Based on that, the need for disk on the rear is unwarranted..... otherwise, I would agree, it would be an error to omit such a basic performance issue on such a nice car, but apparently its not an issue.

Agree, re no seat warmers. Both my current vehicles have leather and seat warmers. I cant imagine being without them. Thats why I wont order leather with my new prius :D

I'm going to have the dealer install it (seat warmers) aftermarket.

Have you talked to anyone who has installed them in the prius?...
the 12 volt inverter only supplies a max of 1400 watts for everything...

And if you do install them... make sure they will not come on with the normal accessories without the car on... you would kill the tiny 12 volt battery almost instantly!

Any faxes or PDFs from a dealer are the best way to communicate info here on priusChat.

Does anyone know if the wheel covers are the same for 2006? the ones shown on the toyota pressroom look the same as the 05 but the pic of the 2006 on the main page of priuschat shows different covers?

The picture you see on PriusChat is the Japanese Touring wheel for the 2006. The North American has the same wheel.

Yes, they are the same. The pic shown in the page I did is of the 2006 Japanese version.

Also, the NE region will only be getting the
    HF
    HI
    NL
    In the 1st allocation.

Do you mind telling us what your source is for the NE info? My dealer, in Vermont, has no idea what packages we are getting? That sure is bad news if it is what we are gonna get.
