According the the site below, the MY11 Prius initial production month isn't until November, with initial delivery Dec/Jan (the dates are also highlighted, meaning they were recently revised). This seems like a deviation from the norm, where new model year cars (excluding some mid-year releases of new models, or new generations of existing models) typically arrive at the dealers Sep/Oct. And since the MY10 Prius hit the dealers May/June 2009, this is a very long MY10 (more like a model year-and-a-half). http://www.donlen.com/buildstart_toyota.html Anybody have any better info on this?
Interesting... There is at least one or two dealerships here advertising 2011 Prius as being currently available, even though I have not seen one in the flesh...
Have you been to the dealer recently?? There are priuses everywhere. A quick search on cars.com shows 18 thousand new 2010s!!
That's the site I use. Either there's a lot of 2010 in stock or they want to get a certain number of sales of 2010 models.
And the difference between 2010 and 2011 is so minor, not sure there is much of a rush... 2012 is looming.... better do some price adjustments to encourage people to buy now rather than wait for the plug - in...
What was the last month that the MY10 was manufactured? I tried a search, but haven't found the info.
Looks like November was the last of the production of the 10's. I have an '11, which was manufactured in Dec, '10
My b-pillar data plate for my 2011 says manufactured 11/10. It arrived here in Hawaii in December 2011. I looked at it the end of December and took it home on January 3, 2011.
