Picked up my new 2011 Blue Ribbon Metallic Prius III this weekend. Got 41mpg on my 68 mile commute to work this morning. Still learning the car, but I'm very happy with it. My Jeep Wrangler is now retired to a pleasure class vehicle (for insurance purposes) and will be used for surfing and weekend fun and the Prius will be the commuter car. This is my first car with Bluetooth and it's freaking awesome! Also loving the Aux port for my ipod. I need to find out how to handle the key fob system for surfing. I found a few threads on here, but will need to do more research. I need to disable the annoying reverse beep. I need to get some all weather floor mats (in the Prius Chat Store) I want to get the shark fin antenna and get rid of the ugly Alfalfa sprout on the roof. I'd like to get some neoprene seat covers, should I need to drive the Prius in my wetsuit. Saw the Wet Okole (sp?) ones on here and they look like the ticket for for me. Any recommendations on these or other mods are greatly appreciated!
Welcome aboard! Read that owner's manual, a few of the questions you have are answered in there. Search on the other topics and you will find the rest. On the FOB though, one person pulled the mechanical key out (lock the door with this) and then wrapped the rest in tinfoil and left that in the car.
Congrats--enjoy. There's an entire chapter in the owners manual regarding customizations such as modifying the reverse beep.
Congrats on your new Prius and welcome to PriusChat. Keep searching the threads for answers, tips and "how to" suggestions. Did you leave your previous car keys in the car when surfing? I suppose you could get a key box and keep it under the frame or in a wheel well. Enjoy your new car.
