Yesterday we went to Walmart, Longview, Washington.

In the auto dept. they had 5 quart jugs of 0W20 Mobil
One motor oil. I believe the price was $23.50, for 5 quarts
which make its less than $5.00 / quart.

This is the first time I have seen the 5 quart jug
    in 0w20.

The last time I was at Walmart they
only had Mobil One in 5 quart jugs in 0w30 oil.

I just get Amsoil for mine. I'd debate doing the "dealer" thing with them if enough people wanted to buy it. For friends/family, I would order for them when I did an order for me. We would split the shipping cost, so the price wasn't too bad for a good oil. With the shipping, it came in very darn close to the price of the oil from the local dealership.

I'm yet to see M1 0W20 near me in any stores. Maybe just timing, or maybe that I'm not usually looking for it.

I just purchased 5 quarts of 0-20 mobile 1 plus a new mobile 1 oil filter for $32.00 at Advance Auto. Since they do not carry prius oil filters, i got a oil filter for my son. If you call and take their survey, you get a coupon code for an additional 20% off your next purchase. I went back and got the same deal plus 6 bucks off making it $26 for 5 quarts of 0-20 mobile 1 plus a mobile 1 oil filter for my son's car. This offer is valid until the end of March.

No 5-quart jugs of 0W-20 here in Connecticut, yet, but I'll keep my eye open. There are only quarts @ $6.27. Thanks!

Costco had a coupon deal on Mobil 1, which ended about a week ago. Made it about $5 per quart (actually, I think it was less - DH and I have been going back and forth on this one. He remembers it costing more - I remember it being about $5.50 qt before the $9 off coupon per case).

Now, I have three cases of it sitting in my hallway

But they only carry 0W-30 and higher right? No 0W-20.

You know, you're right. What we got was 5w-30.

So, what's the advantage of 0w-20?

0W20 is thinner, so less friction, both at start-up and at regular running temp, comparing to 5W30, and should improve mpg, as a consequence. I believe 0W20 also allows tighter engine tolerances, since the oil can get into thinner clearances. That said, if the spec. for your year is 5W30 I would stick with that, unless Toyota ok's use of thinner oil.

Sounds great! Now if we could just find the large size here. Quarts only around Chicago, last time I searched.

I did the same thing in Portland last week but I found it for $21.50 for the 5 qt jug. I bought 5 of them! :cheer2: The additional benefit was no sales tax. I use the same oil for my 09 Corolla so the deal was too good to pass up. :D I had never seen the 5 qt jug of 5W-20 either so I was shocked when I saw it. I had asked several times if they could order the jugs in 0W-20 so I thought that it finally paid off.

Our Costco only carries 5W-30 & 10W-30 though, too thick for what is recommended for the Prius.
