Interesting CR test--though about what anyone reading these forums would expect.

Updated stats later this month. Continue to need more participants for all years, and especially the 2003.

Just did some research and learned that the NHW10 overlapped with the NHW11. I probably shouldn't include this with the 2001 NHW11s, so if you do enroll it please select 2000 rather than 2001 as the model year and note that it's a 2001 in the "license plate / color" field. We only have two 2000s enrolled, so unfortunately they're not included in the survey yet, and might never be.

NHW20 is the 2003-2009 model year Prius, the second-generation hatchback.

NHW11 is the 2000-2003 model year 'first-generation' sedan, the first model to be sold in Europe and the United States.

NHW10 is the 1997-2000 original sedan, only ever available in right-hand drive, and only officially sold in Japan. However, some were grey-imported into other right-hand-drive countries such as the UK.

I wouldn't lump the NHW10 with the NHW11. They have different batteries: the NHW10 used sticks of 'D'-size cells, while the NHW11 was the first to use the prismatic battery. The engine produced less power, though it is still the same model code (1NZ-FXE) from NHW10 through to NHW20.

We have a 2002 Prius, purchased new, with 152,000 miles on it. We just returned from a round trip from DC to Florida.... 1,100 miles each way, with no problems. We do seem to be a few miles per gallon under the economy we observed in prior years (we drive to Florida about once a year), and the gas engine seems to start earlier than it used to. This is currently our only car, so it is used daily... I doubt if there have been more than a few days since we bought it that we haven't taken it for at least a short hop around town.

To avoid biased results, the survey collects data starting with when you join, so when you've just gotten the car is an ideal time to sign up.
