    Tank Dist: 23,449km / 14656mi
    MFD: 5.1L/100km or 46mpg US
    Calc'd: 5.71L/100km or 41.2mpg US
Fuel Added: 17.619 litres or 4.65US gal
    Average Speed: 28km/h or 18mph

Remarks: Cold. Temps for the rather short tank have been in the -20°C/-4°F mark. Also refuelled early because fuel prices have jumped nearly 15¢/litre in the last week or two! Largest jump I've seen since 2008. The calculated mpg would be the 2nd worst ever for this vehicle (The worst was when it dropped to -40 last yr).

Just FYI I checked my tire pressure after 1 month.

2 tires drop 1 psi, 1 tire drop 2 psi, and the other tire did not drop any.

Hardly enough to bother, but I put some air in anyways.

Easiest way is to overfill them a bit and then bleed the air until the PSI works out. It's good to have a separate handy (and accurate) spring loaded tire pressure gauge that costs $2. This is more reliable than only using the gauge on the tire chuck. Took about 3 minutes to do overall.

I picked up my Prius on March 1. I just filled my third tank, each of which were @ 400 miles.

    Date: March 28
    Total Dist: 1240 mi
    MFD: 54.5 mpg US
    Calc'd: 52.31 mpg US
    Fuel Added: 22.7 US gal
    Average Speed: 31 mph

I'm also comparing to the 1997 Volvo I replaced; it got 22 mpg, so in the first month I have saved $112 and 634 pounds of CO2.

At this rate my investment in hybrid technology, which I figure is $3000 above, say, an Accord, is paying back at an annual rate of @24%.

Remarks: Meh. I suspect this pump put a little more fuel in this time, bringing the calc'd further out of line with MFD than usual. Tank was Shell gas, filled it with Texaco. Temps in the 40-60 range mostly.

Remarks: Last tank on winter tyres. The discrepancy from MFD to calculated is really starting to annoy me. 5mpg difference?!?!?! And it's fairly consistent. Look at the other posts here (#9 and #11)
