i am sure this has been asked many time as major concern but just want to get the update to see if there is a plan on increasing the electric battery rage from 14 miles to some what acceptable rage in upcoming 2012 prius PHEV production model?

14 miles range can be used by almost everybody. As the range goes up, less and less people can utilize it. It would be great to have the battery size big enough for the worse possible range but it will cost very high. I also want the longest range given an affordable price.

Majority of the one way commutes are under 14 miles in the US. If you can charge at work, Prius PHV can cover most of the trip with very high EV/HV ratio.

No, nothing from Toyota yet. It may be the same, more or less, we just don't know yet.

Well for me it would be perfect. I only live 2 miles from work. I should probably worry more about my gas going bad.

Agree completely - has anyone heard as to when the PHV will be on the floor available for purchase? My local dealer is saying this (2011) fall - is that overly optimistic?

All the Toyota site says is early 2012. Nothing more has been said officially.

Well, dealers in California are taking pre-orders now. I hope Toyota release it in CA earlier due to the situation with HOV sticker.

Haha, if California gets it early because of their sticker situation, I want it released the same time here in NYC due to the crazy gas price situation we're undergoing. ;)

But the Plug-in sticker in CA does not start until Jan 1, 2012...

DMV needs to extend the current sticker expiration to prevent the disruption then.
